1st Silicon States Lawsuit Has No Merit

KUCHING, Sarawak, Malaysia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 13, 2001-- Semiconductor wafer foundry 1st Silicon (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. today stated in response to the claims filed by Wright Williams and Kelly, that no one in the company has ever done business with Wright Williams and Kelly (WWK).

Apparently, the claim is for software and services for US$43,059.78. WWK's references to ``Two Cool (R)'' software products are perplexing to 1st Silicon as the company has never sought, purchased or used such software anywhere in the company. WWK alleges factory consulting services they performed, yet no one from that company has ever met with any 1st Silicon official or visited 1st Silicon facilities.

The case will be vigorously fought by The Company. 1st Silicon's attorneys, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati, are handling this matter, and have advised that there are no merits to WWK's claims.

WWK's contract with ICT USA was allegedly entered into in February 1997 and the lawsuit was not filed until 4 years later for products, which 1st Silicon is clearly not aware of. 1st Silicon rejected an offer to settle this claim for substantially less than the claimed amount because it is baseless.
